Coincidence or manifestation? You tell me...

Extremely brief intro

In the last 6 months, I have experienced a tremendous amount of personal growth in a variety of ways. At the beginning of this year I watched the movie "The Secret", rewatched the film "Kymatica" at least 10 more times, and started meditating (sitting still and focusing on my breathing) regularly. The concept is simple... Energy is everywhere. It can be channeled through thoughts, but especially words, as sound produces waves of energy. Energy moves matter. The not so simple part is how the energy we produce through sound can move specific matter towards us, but I was willing to apply the concept and test the claim that what we say and think and focus on, we can bring about.

Oneday soon I will discuss the specific instances in detail, but for now I want to tell you about my most recent experience with manifestation and using my thoughts, words, and intentions to bring things into my life. Some people might think this is crazy or coincidence, but when you consider all of the examples where this exact technique has worked out in the most perfect way, it is clear this was certainly not an accident or random coincidence, but rather something I projected and created.

So, here it goes...  I just finished an awesome live painting tour around Florida with the band Rebelution. On the last night of our tour, someone mentioned that they would be performing at The Hudson Music Project (big music festival) in New York two weeks later. I mentioned that I would be there as well, and would love to paint with them again, so one of the members gave me his information to contact him about it.

I followed up immediately but I knew it was highly unlikely I would actually get to paint with them. For one, music festivals are much bigger and less flexible than indoor music venues, and everything from how I would get back stage to whether of not the festival stage manager would even allow it had to be figured out. Even if I got permission, I did not have an easel, nor had I ever painted on stage by myself from start to finish. Between not being prepared or experienced, on top of the fact that this festival didn't have any other live painters, it really wasn't even worth entertaining the idea.

A few days later, I found out that a prior obligation I made to my family was actually the same week, and there was no way I could back out. I was really sad because now what already seemed impossible was definitely not going to happen at that point. I knew I had to follow through and be there for my family, but I REALLY wanted to paint on the main stage with one of the headlining bands in front of thousands of people!!

Therefore, instead of just accepting "the reality of the situation," I decided to create my own reality. The first step is to write it down, so I made a quick sketch of what I wanted to happen. I was very specific in the details of what had to go down in order to make this possible. I included everything I wanted, even stuff that I couldn't imagine how in the world would actually happen (like the band signing one of our paintings from the week before). Why not? If one miracle could happen, why not five miracles?

*Note: As you can see, these drawings don't need to be masterpieces. Stick figures will do :)

So what happened??

I made this drawing, I sat outside in nature and thought about everything on this paper, and I pictured it already happening. I imagined myself on stage with everything I needed and I felt the joy and happiness of what it would be like for this to be a reality.

Then, I contacted my friends I had planned to vend with had I been able to attend the festival in the first place, and they were able to pick up some of my inventory and paintings on their way. I was somehow able to follow through with my obligations to my family, and show up to the event one day late, without having to worry about getting all of my stuff in.

I acquired the "perfect easel of travel and live painting" for half off with a coupon at Michaels. I really didn't have the money for supplies, so I needed a good deal and I got one.

I was able to get into the festival like a breeze (just like I said in my Facebook posts), while others waited HOURS in line being searched and hassled upon entry. It was crazy how they let me pull my car right up to the ferris wheel in the middle of this event!

Now that I was actually there, I had to figure out how I was going to get back stage and get it approved for me to paint on stage with the band.

Next thing I know, Khris Royal, Rebelution's saxophone player, meets me at my booth to hangout!! He contacted the stage manager to get the approval process in motion and confirmed that he could bring me back stage incase they gave me any trouble. "Easy access backstage" happened just like that!!

Their set started at 6:15 so the sun was shining and there was no need to worry about having to plug lights in on stage. Mother nature gave me "the perfect light for painting" that I asked for.

I DID IT!! I GOT TO PAINT ON THE MAIN STAGE WITH MY Favorite headliner!!

The set was only an hour long so I painted what I was comfortable with (quick forest scene) but the band LOVED IT!! Marly Williams, the founder and the base player in the band, ASKED TO "BUY THE PAINTING I did on stage"! Also, I got the chance to talk to him about my clothing line and a possible "collaboration with Hill Kid," his clothing line! BOOM! And that's not all...
Picture
I went back to the booth that night on cloud nine! I couldn't believe I pulled it off and I was overwhelmed with gratitude and love. Even if the rest of the festival was a bust (which is pretty much was after getting flooded and rained out) I had accomplished almost everything on my list at that point.

One last goal...

Picture
Just when the night couldn't get any better, I look over to see Eric, the LEAD SINGER OF THE BAND, randomly standing at the atm right next to our booth. He had no idea that was my booth or anything about what I do with the ferris wheel or my clothing line. Out of no where, he ends up buying one of our shirts and a having my do a custom cut for his girlfriend. Then, Khris walks back in, and BOTH OF THEM "SIGNED THE LOVE NOTES PAINTING" Chris Morphis and I painted with them at a previous show.

EVERY SINGLE THING I WROTE DOWN HAPPENED EXACTLY THE WAY I WANTED!! EVERYTHING!!!!!

I am 100% convinced this series of events was brought about by my good intentions, focusing on the end goals, projecting the reality, and actively MAKING IT HAPPEN! ANYONE CAN DO THIS! It is not rocket science or magic people!
(1) Write it down
(2) Visualize it and pretend it has already happened.
(3) Say it out loud and believe it is possible.
(4) Make the necessary moves towards your goals. Don't just want for things to happen. You have to TRY and participate in the process!
(5) Watch your dreams come true.

It is that simple!

It's hard to believe Its over!

The anticipation of kicking off the summer with one of the largest music festivals in the country drove me crazy over the last two months. Vending was not an option for us this year, so the plan was to focus on marketing and introduce the festival scene to WOLI; The Wheel of Lights and Inspirations!

Here is the Recap...

The music at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival AMAZING!!! I didn't get to see as much of it as I wanted but the shows I made it to, such as Of Monsters and Men, NAS, and Matt and kim were awesome!! The entire experience is based on where you stand at the show. If you didn't really care about the artist, then it was cool to sit back and listen from the outskirts of the crowd, but for sets like The xx, I had to be up close!!! Even though I couldn't see anything, I could hear them perfectly and it was an incredible experience!! The set was at night and the lazer light show was ridiculous! So intense... No drugs necessary!!! I expected Rkelly to be wack because the website said he was testing out "new music." Obviously I was just tryin to hear "Bump and Grind"! hahaha Good thing he played that and more!! Seriously KILLLLEEEEDDD it. It was a really great show!!! I got to see Wu-Tang with my girls, and that was fun! I missed Jack Johnson, Pretty Lights, and ASAP Rockey which really sucked, but they will be around. All in all.. A+ for music.

I spent a lot of time talking to people about what we are hoping to accomplish this summer with the Ferris Wheel. We passed out stickers that said "I got high on WOLI" and asked people to connect with us online. Although we didn't get a flood of fans like I hoped, each social network grew enough to set the stage for the next event. The more people that know about us, the better because we want to grow quickly and make a big impact with a positive message.

FINALLY I got to paint at the end of the weekend. I had most of my supplies but not everything I needed. I painted a forest bc it was quick and easy, and I really just wanted to be able to say I got live paint at Bonnaroo. Next year will be a different story

The festival itself was super organized and did a great job of pulling off a huge event, minus one factor that really bothered me. On their website and in the media they focused on their efforts to minimize the "trace left behind" from all of those people, but you should have seen the MILES AND MILES AND MILES of trash everywhere after everyone left. Even throughout the event there was a DISGUSTING... like SERIOUSLY GROSS amount of trash left on the ground. The cleaning crews would come in after the show, but by that time, thousands of people had already trampled through trash to get to the next show and drug addicts had scoured the floor for "ground scores." It was an incredible amount of waste left after the event was over. Everything from brand new tents to bags of food, left out with garbage. I am not sure what happens to it all. Maybe it does get sorted and donated, but it seems like most of it would already be destroyed by the time enough people hit the scene to salvage it. It was as if 80,000 cleared out this local Walmart over the course of 4 days and left everything in the grass.... disturbing...

Thats about it.... my dog, Libby, aka Libby-Roo survived the heat and overall I am thankful for the experience. I have no idea where this whole thing will end up, but I hope to continue learning more about music festivals and the people that go there so I can tighten up my marketing game, and get my work seen!! If it ends up being a bust...Oh well.. at least I went all in. Next stop is Wavefront Music Festival!

One last thing...I was really let down by Matt and kim. I LOVEEE their music and they are both really talented performers, but the commentary in between songs was really disappointing. Matt encouraged people to share water and look out for eachother, which was good, but Kim was raunchy and gross. She had a filthy mouth and encouraged people to be DTF whereever with whoever. Bonnaroo painted "Don't be THAT girl or THAT guy" painted in huge letters on the wall, and here comes this slutbag encouraging people to blackout and bang anyone. I get the whole "rockstar" approach, but people were already raging. Why not use a window of opportunity like that to talk to thousands of people to tell them to at least use protection, or focus on something else, like enjoying great music. It really took away from the show... and not because I am prude. I really just didn't understand why it was necessary. They could have said "Love Life!" and people would have gone just as crazy, but instead she chose "Bring baby wipes so you can wipe down after f-king someone you don't know!" Ewwww.....

*I found the pictures of the shows on google. I did no not own the rights to those images, or the ariel shots of the crowds.
